Saturday Centus~Friends are the Flowers in Life.

Hi I’m back. Well at least for this Saturday Centus.

I am afraid I have my hands full when I babysit my granddaughter. And there’s not much time for sitting at the computer.  Besides, I am so far behind in visiting and reading all your wonderful entries. I feel terrible about that. I hope to visit  everyone sooner or later.

So here is this week’s prompt: There’s a yellow rose in Texas…..

Hummm…. I wonder if Jenny knew that yellow roses are associated with joy, warmth, and friendship?

Now, on to my contribution…..

There’s a yellow rose in Texas.

Actually I know two yellow roses in Texas.

One is named Deb and the other Sue.

They are my friends and bloggers too.

Like friendships, yellow roses bring me such joy.

It only stands to reason that I would pick these two yellow roses from Texas.

Texas is a big state they say and I can attest to that.

When I was 16 years old I took a bus from Florida to California. The trip took five days. Most of it was through Texas.

One day I would like to return to Texas. Just not on a bus!

Alphabe~Thursday "W" is for

Wookiees

The director George Lucas’ dog, Indiana, was the prototype for the character Wookiee in his movie Star Wars.  His dog always sat behind him in his car and he was big and hairy.

Friend or Foe, Wookiees in general have atrocious breath and frightfully loud screams.

Thank goodness there are no such things as Wookiees in real life.

I would not want to see one, because they give me the willies.

Willies – the jitters, or fright, or the feelings of uneasiness.

Alphabe~Thursday "V"

Ah it's the week of the "V's" Who would have thought there were so many names that start with the letter "V". Here's a few.........

V is for Vanessa  Williams (Still beautiful and with a beautiful voice.)

V is for Valerie Bertinelli (Losing weight one gross meal at a time.)

V  is for Vanna White ( Thanks to Pat Sajak she still has a job.)

V is for Victoria Gotti ( I can't imagine she had too many dates growing up with a mob boss for a father.)

V is for Venus Williams (She has a mean backhand to go with her mean personality.)

V  is for Veronica Lake (An old starlet)

V is for Vera Wang (Just simply tasteful)

V is for Vienna Girardi
(I threw her in the lot because she is from a spit and miss it town in Florida and was on the TV reality show called The Batchelor, which I didn't watch. I think it is one of the worst shows on TV.)

V is for Vivian Lee (Miss I'll think about it tomorrow.)

Okiedokie there you have it, a load of names that start with the letter "V" Some beautiful, some bitchy. Don't forget to return to Jenny Matlock's blog off on my tangent

Alphabe~Thursday "T"

It’s Thursday and that means another alphabet letter to feature. This week it’s the letter “T”.

T” is for Thinking. I’ve been cleaning my glass display case that houses my Fire King Royal Ruby Collection. I was delighted by the beautiful Red color as I was washing each piece by hand.

When I held each piece up to the light, all of the sudden I remembered I used to have a big red shooter marble the same color of red. When I picked up the last juice glass there it was…my marble! It was rolling around inside that small juice glass.

Did you ever play marbles as a kid?

We did all the time.

We Traded marbles.

We Treasured marbles.

We had marble Tournaments.

Those were simple Times.

(((s c r e e c h!!!))))

Okay yeh yeh I know.
No I didn’t grow up in the depression era.

And no I didn’t walk to school uphill both ways…in the snow…

But aren’t you glad I didn’t lose my marble?

I only have the one ya know.

Please take the time to stop by Jenny Matlock’s for more on the letter “T”. I bet she has all her marbles. Umm well maybe not all  of them. Please click here to find out: off on my tangent

That's all I could come up with this week.
Thanks for stopping by. ~Ames

P.S. I think I’m watching way too much cartoons with my granddaughter. I can’t get the “My Little Pony’s” tune out of my head.
