Saturday Centus~Friends are the Flowers in Life.

Hi I’m back. Well at least for this Saturday Centus.

I am afraid I have my hands full when I babysit my granddaughter. And there’s not much time for sitting at the computer.  Besides, I am so far behind in visiting and reading all your wonderful entries. I feel terrible about that. I hope to visit  everyone sooner or later.

So here is this week’s prompt: There’s a yellow rose in Texas…..

Hummm…. I wonder if Jenny knew that yellow roses are associated with joy, warmth, and friendship?

Now, on to my contribution…..

There’s a yellow rose in Texas.

Actually I know two yellow roses in Texas.

One is named Deb and the other Sue.

They are my friends and bloggers too.

Like friendships, yellow roses bring me such joy.

It only stands to reason that I would pick these two yellow roses from Texas.

Texas is a big state they say and I can attest to that.

When I was 16 years old I took a bus from Florida to California. The trip took five days. Most of it was through Texas.

One day I would like to return to Texas. Just not on a bus!

Alphabe~Thursday "W" is for

The director George Lucas’ dog, Indiana, was the prototype for the character Wookiee in his movie Star Wars.  His dog always sat behind him in his car and he was big and hairy.

Friend or Foe, Wookiees in general have atrocious breath and frightfully loud screams.

Thank goodness there are no such things as Wookiees in real life.

I would not want to see one, because they give me the willies.

Willies – the jitters, or fright, or the feelings of uneasiness.

A Medical Mystery

Do you ever wonder about those shots they encourage everyone to take? Are they the real deal or just some kind of placebo designed to make you think you will be among the living when the pandemic wipes out the population? Well except all of those elitest in "The New World Order". Geez.

Well anyway I'm beginning to wonder, I'm always sick regardless of how many shots I take. My daughter said I should ask to see the date on the vials. She said that some doctors are cutting cost by administering vaccines that are "slightly " out of date. She said they are even looking into out of date vaccinations contributing to Autism??? Now that is scary as hell!

I am beginning to wonder regardless, because this is my scenario recently.......

Hello Doctor?

I feel a tickle in my throat.

What can you do to nip this thing in the bud?

I’m needed right now.

I have to watch my granddaughter.

I don’t have time to get sick.

I don’t want her to get sick from me either.

What? I need a Flu shot?

A preventative measure huh…

Well okay.

And a Pneumonia and Adult Pertussis shot too???

And prescriptions too?

Well okay. If you are sure I won’t get sick.

I told you I was needed right now didn’t I?

End of the week…….

Hello Doctor?

I’m really sick.

I think I hacked up a piece of my lung.

More prescriptions?

Well okay, if you think they will do the trick this time..

Two weeks later….

Hello Doctor?

I’m sick again.

Yep fever 102.5, chills, nausea, same as before.

There’s nothing you can do??

Let it run it’s course?

Yeh, I guess that's why they call it practicing medicine.

Good luck with your practice.

V is for Valerie Bertinelli (Losing weight one gross meal at a time.)

V  is for Vanna White ( Thanks to Pat Sajak she still has a job.)

V is for Victoria Gotti ( I can't imagine she had too many dates growing up with a mob boss for a father.)

V is for Vera Wang (Just simply tasteful)

V is for Vienna Girardi

Saturday Centus #101 ~ The Birth Announcement

Happy Easter All! Today for Saturday Centus #101, Jenny has given us a prompt of : in your Easter bonnet and as many pictures as we like. Well in these changing times, a lot of down sizing has gone on. People are out of work and taking all kinds of oddball jobs to make ends meet. Why should it be any different in the make-believe world?

And now onto my contribution....

A bundle in your Easter bonnet,
ten little piggy’s wailing a sonnet.
Flowered Chihuahuas pink and frilly……

Delivered our baby, and her name is Lily.

Lily is my only granddaughter. My daughter prayed for 17 years  for a little girl. She was an only child growing up and I think she always wanted a sister. I was so young when my daughter was born, and we were so close,  it was as though we were sisters. After being blessed with four sweet boys, my daughter finally received her little girl. She worried about her age, she worried about genetics as she did with every pregnancy because she was born with Cerebral Palsy and was deaf. She only had to be patient, and trust in the lord,  and oh what blessings she has received!

Please stop by Jenny Matlock's blog for other Easter contributions:  off on my tangent  May you receive and recognise the many blessing in your life!

Happy Easter!~Ames

A tisket a tasket
sweet puppies in a basket!
Such big bootiful ears my sweet little dears.

Alphabe~Thursday "T"

It’s Thursday and that means another alphabet letter to feature. This week it’s the letter “T”.

T” is for Thinking. I’ve been cleaning my glass display case that houses my Fire King Royal Ruby Collection. I was delighted by the beautiful Red color as I was washing each piece by hand.

When I held each piece up to the light, all of the sudden I remembered I used to have a big red shooter marble the same color of red. When I picked up the last juice glass there it was…my marble! It was rolling around inside that small juice glass.

Did you ever play marbles as a kid?

We did all the time.

We Traded marbles.

We Treasured marbles.

We had marble Tournaments.

Those were simple Times.

(((s c r e e c h!!!))))

Okay yeh yeh I know.
No I didn’t grow up in the depression era.

And no I didn’t walk to school uphill both ways…in the snow…

But aren’t you glad I didn’t lose my marble?

I only have the one ya know.

Please take the time to stop by Jenny Matlock’s for more on the letter “T”. I bet she has all her marbles. Umm well maybe not all  of them. Please click here to find out: off on my tangent

That's all I could come up with this week.
Thanks for stopping by. ~Ames

P.S. I think I’m watching way too much cartoons with my granddaughter. I can’t get the “My Little Pony’s” tune out of my head.
