Saturday Centus #18 ~ My Nightly Hell

I have never done this before. I am going to attempt to link to Jenny Mattlock's Saturday Centus. Here goes......

I hate it when he brings home those scary movies! I think he enjoys torturing me. We watched the last movie he rented when it was a dark and stormy night. After that, the nightmares came every night for a week! That demon tried every night for a week to take me to his hell. He’s back. I can feel his hot breath against my face. He’s waiting for me. He wants me. Be strong. I’m so scared! Don’t open your eyes. Be still and breathe…just breathe! Don’t open your eyes! It will be morning soon. Dear God help me!

This was very well done. I really hate scary movies too. I usually watch them turning back and forth on the TV lol. Great job.

Ah, but you can face your nightmares and control your dreams...just takes a little practice. Boo on him for bringing home those movies when they bother you so!

You just need to leave the room when he pops a scary one in the player ;-) Wonderful writing! Peace and blessings, and don't be afraid

Nice! The short sentences really give the story an urgency and who hasn't woken up in a cold sweat, thinking the shadows just moved and then reached for their ball bat under the bed "just in case."

Oh. Maybe it's just me. :-D

I also really liked how you put a sadistic twist to the story - this is not your typical nightmare, it's something more sinister and infinitely more scary. Nice job!

I have never enjoyed truly scary movies. My students loved them. When they asked me why I did not watch them, I said that if I wanted to be scared to death, I just looked into the mirror! :)

I hate horror movies. I've seen three. The first time I had to leave the theater and go have intestinal distress in the public restroom. The second one was Silence of the Lambs and I truly had night terrors for almost a year. You'd think I'd learn, but I still tried again. My friend assured me it was a "classic" and more campy than horror. Nope. I got so scared I threw up. He was a good friend so he turned it off :-) Nonetheless, I like your Centus. Good work.

Hahahaha!
Great post.
I hate slasher horror movies, but love the monster type. You know, the giant bugs and snakes and croc's.

Yikes! And jeepers creepers, too.

I never watch scary movies because this EXACT SAME THING HAPPENS TO ME!

I find hiding under the covers to help...but being in menopause it can also cause me to freak out and leap out of bed with my skin on fire.

Which might be OK because it would probably frighten a slasher and/or disturb them enough to call some mental health intervention place...

So I guess it would be a win/win situation for me...

And...

Hmmm...

What was I writing about?

Oh yea.

You.

You and your SC.

Thanks for linking up this week. This was great! Hope to see you again soon!

This was great! I could really feel her terror in your words. I'm not a big fan of scary films either, so I can relate. Super job!

Been there...done that. I just don't watch horror films at all! My sleep world is easily invaded!

I just posted two assignments in one post. I'm bad, but please come visit me anyway.

I don't mind scary movies, or suspenseful movies, but gory horror films do the same thing to me. I can't sleep for weeks. Great job of portraying her terror!

I love me a good scary movie and I like the bad ones too. But, I understand how people can hate them and be haunted by them. Good job portraying that here.

The staccato rhythm of this urgent post made me nervous! Hope it's fiction.

Thanks..........cj

Great job! You really made this somewhat awkward prompt flow so naturally into your story. And I can completely relate to the nightmares sparked from scary movies. Only...my nightmares never have anything to do with the movies...does that make me weird? Haha.
